Okay you guys, I have a confession to make….
With a lot of my other food posts, I often first find a recipe somewhere else, tweak it a little to make it my own (usually a healthier version of a well-loved classic), take some photos, and make my post.
This smoothie recipe was born in an entirely different manner. In fact, making it and posting about it was not planned in my content calendar… It just…sorta…happened. Out of nowhere, I was REALLY wanting a smoothie. To be honest, if I this had happened 6 months ago, I would have chalked it up to pregnancy cravings. But in this case, I just wanted a smoothie that dang bad.
Because I wasn’t exactly following a recipe, I can’t give you the EXACT quantities or amounts of each ingredient (I was sort of like a madwoman throwing things together in the blender), but I’ll give it my best shot. Feel free to play around with it however you’d like!
And my last plug before I share the recipe is to let you know… this smoothie is Gluten Free, Dairy Free, Vegan, AND Paleo. WHAAAAA??? Is there such a thing? Apparently my fridge and pantry just breed healthy… but hey, it could be worse 🙂
- 1-2 cup Frozen or Fresh Mixed Berries
- 5 Ice cubes (if you use fresh berries)
- 2 cups Almond Milk
- 3 tablespoons Almond Butter
- 1 tablespoon Cacao Powder
- Add all ingredients to blender or food processor
